Theodore Tromovitch Award GuidelinesThe award will be available to anyone who is a fellow in training or in the first year after leaving their fellowship. They must be an immediate graduate of or a Fellow in an approved program. One or two awards may be given each year. The decision will be made by the Tromovitch Award Committee. Some years there may be no award. The subject matter should be appropriate for cutaneous oncologists/Mohs Micrographic Surgeons. It must be original research done by the Fellow during his/her year of training. The format of the submission will be the same as used for submitting an abstract to present a paper at the meeting. The deadline will be the same as the submission of any abstract to the meeting. The program chair will review all of the abstracts and decide which ones should be presented at the meeting. Only those abstracts which qualify for presentation at the meeting will qualify for entry into the Tromovitch Award competition. Only one presentation per fellow is eligible for the award, even if more than one presentation is selected for the meeting. The presenters will designate which paper is for the award. The applicant is responsible for advising the program chair in writing that he/she is applying for admission to competition for the Tromovitch Award. The paper and abstract must be submitted to the Committee six weeks prior to the meeting to be eligible. The papers will be reviewed by the Tromovitch Award Committee. The program chair will attempt to have all Tromovitch Award papers presented together in the first scientific session of the meeting so that the Committee will have time to listen to the presentations and deliberate. This will be done at the discretion of the program chair. Recipients of the Tromovitch Award must submit an article suitable for publication in the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery. The recipient will receive a plaque, complimentary membership dues their first year of membership in the College, and free registration at the subsequent Annual Meeting. The article must be submitted (receipt confirmed by Journal) to the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery before complimentary dues or free meeting registration is provided. Co-authors on all winning papers will be notified that the fellow received the award.
